The Macomb Junior Golf Classics is a series of summer golf tournaments for junior golfers ages 12 to 18. The tournaments were started in 1982 by 2 high school golf coaches who have recently been inducted into the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association's Hall of Fame. From one tournament in 1982 to seven tournaments over the last 8 years the M.J.G.C. has provided young golfers with opportunities to play competitive golf and develop their skills in a safe and encouraging environment. All the tournaments are located in fine golf courses in Macomb County and are open to all junior golfers.
All of our tournaments have 2 age divisions: 12 to 15 years and 16 to 18 years and include both boys and girls.
We do not require or collect an up front membership fee as many other tournaments do (Top 50-$75, Adams-$100, Meijer-$100, MI PGA-$100)* and our greens fees are significantly lower (Top 50-$55, Adams-$60, Meijer-$60, MI PGA-$50)* and include lunch after each 18 hole tournament (except Sycamore Hills}. In addition we have a horn start at all tournaments (no tee times) so all golfers begin at the same time and finish within about 1/2 hour of each other. All tournaments (except the Cherry Creek Generations Scrambles) have a check in time by 7 a.m. and a start time scheduled at 7:30 a.m. and are usually completed between 12 noon and 1:00p.m.
To register for a tournament fill out the registration form and send it along with the tournament fee to the appropriate address and you are in the tournament. Play which ever and as many tournaments as you wish.
